That's rather sad :(
I am very curious about the storage, though, because I have a couple of engines sitting at a remote location, as well. Those were never rebuilt, and they do have oil in them. I did not manage to have them turned for over a year now ![]()

I can't say where the car was when the mice found their home but suspect it was the same place as when he discovered it. That was in a basement garage of his home which at that time was in a semi rural area outside of Vancouver, WA. Next time we speak I'll try to remember and ask and also if he remembered if he suspected a mouse problem as the reason he decided to remove the pan.

So while looking at the brakes I wanted to repack the front wheel bearings. In the process of that I saw I should probably get new wheel seals. Well after some research on here (ordering the wrong parts first) and part numbers I found on the car I got the right ones finally. I also noticed that the dust boot on the wheel cylinder on the wheel that had the failing brakes, failed. So I got new front ones of those.
In the process of trying to change the brake cylinders I noticed the brake hose appeared old. I did not see a date code, and the one on the rear had a date of 10/77? Either way, I don't have a record of when they were changed, and since I have to bleed the system because its that time, and the cylinders are new, I figured I might as well replace the hoses. The right brake could have started to hang up due to the brake hose swelling (happened on another car of mine). Either way, given the undersized brakes on the convertible, I didn't want to chance it. I hope to get the car back on the ground during the weekend and start enjoying the top down cruising weather coming up.

Nice work on getting the brakes up to par. What did you end up using for the seals? Mine are okay currently, but probably don't have a lot of life left.
