I saw that. No idea how long it was without oil after the rebuild. Mark went thru a series of both long and shorter distance moves due to his job and had other cars to deal wth too. During that time his Packard was in storage and got little attention. Like mine, it has basically sat. It could have been quite awhile without oil before it was installed in the car and I don't know if he will ever finish it.

That's rather sad :(
I am very curious about the storage, though, because I have a couple of engines sitting at a remote location, as well. Those were never rebuilt, and they do have oil in them. I did not manage to have them turned for over a year now

I can't say where the car was when the mice found their home but suspect it was the same place as when he discovered it. That was in a basement garage of his home which at that time was in a semi rural area outside of Vancouver, WA. Next time we speak I'll try to remember and ask and also if he remembered if he suspected a mouse problem as the reason he decided to remove the pan.
