The '49 Coupe just might be a Golden Anniversary driveaway car. Note that the serial number is very low in the 23d series run, and I believe I see a few spots of gold paint under the undercoating on the firewall. Very cool. I always found that the coupes had a more sporty feel than the sedan (in relative terms) probably due to weight distribution. They also love to have a rear sway bar fitted. Someone needs to snatch this up and go racing past the Supers and Customs like they were standing still.

Just listed today:

1932 Light Eight (Model 900) Coupe-Sedan. Body No. 553. This is the ultra-rare two door Victoria coupe. When I had my Light Eight Coupe (Body No. 558) many years ago, I recall being told by a Light Eight expert who did some work on my car that there were as few as three Coupe-Sedans known to exist. I have only seen one and it was at Hershey quite some time ago. According to the ad, this particular car has been in storage for over 40 years. It is badly deteriorated and would require a full restoration, but it appears to be relatively intact. Has rear mount spare with disc wheels. An ambitious project. but worth it given the rarity. Asking $15K. Ohio:

There was a light eight coupe sedan here in town and the owner let me drive it. What a delightful car to drive with a lot of power to keep up with modern traffic. He bought it in an auction that was not advertised much and got it for relatively cheap.

Very nice 56 400 project for $4000. Was running 9 years ago, parked for repairs and not put back together. Needs an Ultramatic and an oil pump conversion.

Edit: Ultramatic is included but no engine or front clip. Didn't read carefully... definitely a $1000 car. How do you take a front clip off a running car and just use it for something else? The paint is such an expense...

Pretty sure he means this one. 1955 400 abandoned project. It was a driver before, owner drove it a good amount until the oil pump started to fail. He disassembled the front end, removed engine and trans, then lost interest and never put it back together. Sounds like he used parts from this car for other Packards. So no engine, grille, bumper or front fenders. Interior is in great shape. Paint looks good, love the color combo. New exhaust and suspension work. I personally think $4k for this is a bit steep, given that the engine and front clip are missing.
