Thanks Tommy for checking, and in fact you had it right the first time. In Packard's proprietary type font the digit "1" is represented as a "I". So it's 951188. Thanks for the info.

EDIT: Here it is, again for newcomers. This is their own private type font for advertising and the like. The version on the embossed number differs slightly as the stem of the "I" is broadened our of proportion to the serifs. And the version used to stamp the vehicle number (VN) again differs a bit, the "6" and "9" are a bit different but also varies a bit depending on year.

The Packard script throws everyone the first time they see it. The 'II' is in fact 11.

By 2365-5 it indicates that you own a 1950 Deluxe Eight Club Sedan. 5924 tells us that this was the 3,623rd car that came off of the line for that model, I believe.

jrbuzz,
I am not sure if you directed the 2365-5 towards me however my 50 Packard is a club coupe and not the deluxe. I have the standard grill and not the so called egg crate. That's why I asked for any info I could get my hands on. I don't understand the difference in the model numbers such as 2365, 2395 etc. The wheel base on my car is 120" and it has a standard shift with overdrive. I came with a radio and heater and what other options I have idea as I don't know what other features were available. I have no idea of production numbers on deluxe and club coupes were. I would like for someone to advise me on how many were built if at all possible on the number of club coupes vs deluxe and how many were 4 doors. I would sure appreciate any help from anyone.
Thanks,
Tommy

The mechanical specs can be found in Service Counselor 23 #5packardinfo.com/xoops/html/downloads/SC/SC-VOL23NO5.pdf by chassis type and here is an excerpt from the index of the 48-54 Parts manual giving the body number and chassis type it corresponds to. We don't have a 23rd series fact book here but there is a 22nd seriespackardinfo.com/xoops/html/downloads/1948_FactBook.pdf available. There are probably some changes in the 23rd series but at least that book may give a general idea of differences.

Tommy,

The Model Info section for the 1950 Model Year here on PackardInfo shows 2365-5 for the Deluxe Eight Club Sedan and 2395-5 for the Eight Club Sedan. I notice that in your Owner Registry Entry your MODEL NUMBER: is shown as 2395-5 while the VIN NUMBER: is shown as 2365-5-5924. Can you check whether it is 2365 or 2395?
