Those of us who were at Galena got to see this car up close and personal. It is truly a time capsule. As I recall the original spare was still holding air.

Thanks for sharing Roscoe !

Roscoe,

Gotta' ask, could you please include this time capsule '49 Deluxe Eight Touring Sedan in the Packard Owner's Registry?

I am really interested in the original tool kit. Do you have any more photos showing what was included? I see a screwdriver, a pliers, and some other object near the jack.

I believe the 'other object' is the tool to remove the skirt bolt.

I am wondering about the build slip... you have the overdrive instruction tag (I got one with my 22nd also) but your build sheet does not show 'OD'. Does the car have overdrive? Confused

Edit: My overdrive instruction tag is different. Same reference number but slightly different instructions. I wonder if the difference was the engine (356 vs 288) or if it was just a running change they made?

Difference in OD instructions is the unit. First tag is for the first production cars having R9 with indicator light and second is later R11's without. A tag from each side of the transition.

I can send some other views of the tools next week. This car does not have o/d transmission. The owners brother also had a Packard the o/d tag may have been from his car

Roscoe,
for including your '49 Deluxe Eight Touring Sedan in the Packard Owner's Registry.

Leads me to another question/request. Are there any more Packards at home besides this and the two '56's already there? If there are, and as I just had to say earlier, could you please include it/them also?
