G'day Dan,
See you're a longtime PackardInfo member, but first post so

Sorry I can't really help with the ID on the steering wheel, but I'll hazard a guess anyway - '37 Senior?

And, from your Forum name I guess you have a '50 Packard in which case, I invite you to include it in the Packard Owner's Registry.

That steering wheel could be for any of several years and models, for example it's shown in the 1937 110/120 accessory manual and I believe it was also available in 1936 for the 120. Also available for senior models thru at least 1939 though I doubt it was exactly the same wheel, similarly styled but perhaps sized differently. Flackmaster should have the real details.

Just speaking generally, wheels I've seen don't have a key; shaft and wheel are splined and often with one missing segment so the wheel only mounts in a fixed position. That said, I do see what appears to be a keyway slot.

With the roughness and general condition of that hole, I'd almost bet someone had done a little garage mechanics with a drill and file to adapt it to a different shaft.

Dan,

Looking forward to seeing the Hearse in the Registry when you get it.

That wheel has been on ebait for several weeks now, advertised as Packard. It is NOT and the seller has been advised of this - nevertheless the seller continues to advertise as Packard. It is 36 Buick. Period, full stop, end of story. Horn button IS Packard, but the wheel AIN'T.
