Packard didn't produce cars by model year until much later, so I assume you are looking at a 1st Series Single Six? They were manufactured 1920 thru 1922, concurrent with the final year of the Twin Six (V12). Do you have a wheelbase measurement? Can you provide a model# or photograph? NADA and others give values for those years.
Despite 2 wheel brakes, those cars can be nice drivers, we had one on tour all week during the Gettysburg National and performed w/o problems. I don't see any model described as a "sport" touring sedan, the sedans were: Model 116, Type 192 - sedan on 116" wheelbase Model 126, Type 221 - sedan on 126" wheelbase Model 126, Type 232 - touring sedan on 126" wheelbase Model 126, Type 231 - sedan limousine on 126" wheelbase Model 133, Type 228 - sedan on 133" wheelbase

THe owner is describing it as a "Sport touring" I've e-mailed him the info you posted to see if it's one of these. I'll update as soon as he lets me know.
On the other Packard site it looks exactly like the 246 model listed as Sport touring and 126 wheelbase.

I know you said sedan, but perhaps is it an open car? The description "touring" w/o the word sedan refers to an open car, a body style sometimes confused with a phaeton. There was an open Touring on the 116", 126" and 133" wheelbases plus a Sport Touring (again, an open car) on the 126" wheelbase.

Good! That's a terrific body style, hope you can post some pictures in due course. Here's a picture of the Single Six Touring on tour at Gettysburg on the Antietam battlefield. This car lives in New Jersey and the owner is an appraiser; PM me if you want his contact information.

G'day Packard0,
to PackardInfo. To make it a trifecta, here's a pic of a '22 Sport Tourer here in Oz, owned by PackardInfo member DavidM. And here's a link to some more pic's of the '22 and David's other Packards. Wish you well with the one you're looking at and, if you do purchase it, I invite you to include it in the Packard Owner's Registry here, together with a pic, any known history and how you acquired it?

That is a very nice looking 126 Sport, mine is the one in the photo posted by Ozstatman. Its been on the road since 1985 and we have toured extensively with, it will need a third set of tyres soon. The Sports have a slightly taller diff ratio and they will cruise at about 50 mph max once fully warmed up. The one you are looking at looks very correct, the disc wheels were unique to the Sport in 1922 although for reasons unknown all 126 open cars that I have seen in Australia had Rudge Whitworth wire wheels like mine. the colour looks correct also. The Sports are fairly rare but I would not know how much its worth, unfortunately this era does not attract a lot of interest. Don't worry about the 2 wheel brakes, if you drive it within its limits they are fine (except in heavy rain) If you like it and can agree a price, buy it. I have never seen a better unrestored one.
