And the winner is ....... Brian! Allow me to congratulate you! Your willingness were our last resort and I'm happy to have good news. According to --> rule G) you are freed of your duties.
Mal, this competition has more than one winning member. You gave Brian a run for his money and moreover many of us know that he is very proficient in the field of postwar eyecatchers. I could very well imagine how hard you've fought. Sincere thanks to both of you especially in the name of PackardInfo.com and on my own behalf. Much obliged, gentlemen.

Over and above thank you to all the nameless sponsors!

besides Brian, PackardInfo has benefited.
Our to you Gerd for putting together the puzzle. Helps to keep the grey cells active, and at the same time, have fun and make a contribution to PackardInfo.

I'd be delighted to Gerd but the distraction of Ursula UAndress might be too much for me. Love the Casino Royale theme.

Gerd -

Puzzles and boards games were certainly a part of my childhood, and while bookshelf strategy games later interested me, I was no good at the only one that I ever tried. Now, I hardly have time to do an occasional crossword puzzle.

Yet, having been through a few automotive museums in my life, and with a couple of them focused on Packard, I thought I might have a chance with this one. Still, Mal was quick on the draw with that virtual bone.

Intitially, this puzzle was a bit tougher than I had envisioned, but things gradually began to take shape. Yet, I don't believe I ever saw the Astral in person, but only in some long-ago magazine.

Thanks for providing us with a good puzzle, an interesting subject, and being an entertaining host. I'm really surprised that people with more years of Packard experience than me didn't join in.

The Studebaker-Packard Astral reminds me of this.this.

Edit, Thanks Gerd. Seems like I slipped into a loop. Reminds me of when I was a boy and my Mum would say "Stop running around in circles Mal, or I'll nail your other foot to the floor!"

No doubt I read Howards post at the time. Must have lodged in the sub-conscious, or more likely in my case, the unconscious mind!

Seems it certainly registered with you. Or do you keep an extensive cross-reference index of ALL PackardInfo posts?
