That really does look amazing! I don't think mine look that much like wood when it was new!

The woodgrain looks great and thanks for updating your progress. Don't forget to take pics and post them here of your first ride.

Finally received all my woodgrained panels back. Started assembly of the dash already, but it is very hot here so working during the weekend days are not nice.

I am satisfied with the end result. The pics dont do it justice as the flash interferes. Also after installation I will polish away all the fingerprints and water stains. I paid approx. $300 which is steep! But at least it looks more factory than my hand painting trials and errors! Now I can start putting the interior back again. Hope to have it finished soon. Cant wait to go for a drive....

Barrie,

That would be cheap here. At least a four figure sum for dash and window mouldings!

$300???? That's a STEAL. I had quotes from around $1200 to $2500.

For $300 plus the freight there and back, it might even be cheaper than what it can be found for here.

I started installation into the car, but it now seems that my waterpump is throwing in the towel! It sounds like a coffee grinder. So a very expensiev one will have to be sourced. Found a place on e-bay for $145. The shipping here will be about $100!!! Anyway, hope that my old timer mechanic can fix it locally. Talking about using swimming pool pump seals etc....

Here is a pic of the interior at present. I lost some momentum after hearing the water pump but will probably finish this weekend.

Barrie, I remember when those Packards were new, and your wood graining looks better than new. Great job, great car.

Thanks for all the good words!

I worked hard on Saturday, but it was very hot so I could not finish the interior. Here is some pics of what was accomplished. The running boards is old and worn, but replacements is definitely out of my budget. I think the tan leather looks great with the dark paint. The carpet is one piece with some sound deadening material underneath. It actuallly was easy to install the caroet a sthe floor is mostly flat with just a little hump for drive shaft.

Could someone let me know what was between the windup glass and the door frames? It seems to be a brush strip of sorts, but how on earth does one attach it to the frames?
