I've agreed to help sell a rare Packard for someone. It is very rare and I have good ideas about selling and who to sell to but am looking for any other avenues as well. Any suggestions are much appreciated.

Thank you

Hard to make any meaningful suggestions without knowing at least a bit more about the car. Postwar one-off or show car? Prewar Twelve? Early Twin Six or pre-1923? Factory body or custom coachwork? You clearly didn't want to identify the car, but just narrowing it down a bit would be helpful.

Well first, year/model/condition need to be known, and lots of pictures inside and out. Then we can give you a general idea of value and where is the best place to market it.

G'day jesse,
to PackardInfo.

Some more information, specifically identification of what this rare Packard actually is, would help insofar as selling avenue suggestions are concerned.

And would like to see this rare Packard in the Packard Owner's Registry, I invite you to include it!

Jesse, I'm not sure about all the cloak and dagger stuff, typically it's the owner who has the info required to get the most accurate answers here, invite your friend to talk with us directly. The best place to get the most money is most often determined by things like condition, who did the resto and to what standard, etc.

OK, there are two very well-know Packard collectors who have specialized in Darrins. If the seller isn't one of them, that's where I'd start my discussion.

If the seller is one of them, then he knows the market for them and likely buyers far better than any of us.

I'm a little late to this thread but figured I would throw my two cents in. Anybody buying (or selling) a Darrin needs to have the history back as far as possible. There were a number of cowl casting done in the 1980s and those cowls are now part of complete cars.

Secondly, the body number is stamped in about 10 places and is unique to the car. I would make sure it is in a number of those spots.

Finally, a 120 Darrin is a cool car, but don't be paying 180 prices for a 120. The subject of this thread is the 4 door, which I would assume was 180.
