Especially for lovers of mostly original and unmolested cars, that's a particularly nice one! Some of the those original details should be photodocumented for future owners/restorers.

I did collect some pictures but interestingly, not a single one of the trunk is available for the poster who is trying to find examples. There must be a conspiracy to not show the trunk or else they are all in terrible condition or full of junk.

Uh, folks, I really don't think that interior is all that original. I'm, guessing it was done in the seventies.

Note the tan and somewhat shiny carpet in the back. Not hogshair. The windlace is covered with broadcloth, not a patterned cloth. Welting around the edge of the seatback is cloth, not leatherette, color of the bedford cord on the seats is odd relative to the other colors, and the cushions are very rounded and lumpy--something that never happened at the factory in my experience. Also, I have some real doubts about the woodgraining, lovely as it is.

I still love the car, but truly don't think that it is an untouched original.

I agree Ross. Also,I noticed the front armrests are missing. By the way, its a 47 not a 46 and the data plate indicates 2185--47 clipper club sedan. Looks like a non-professional older restoration. It will probably sell for more than its worth. Just my Packard 2-cents!

Isn't the Steering Wheel upside down?

I'm not sure if you are joshing with us or not, but the front wheels are not in a straight-ahead position.

Ross, thanks for taking note of the interior, I didn't pay that much attention to it, and it's obviously not as complete an original car as I first thought, but still it appears to be a nice one.

This is possibly a dense question but I'm going to ask it anyway. According to the 1946 Data Book, the Clipper 6 is supposed to have the gauges set in "bright chrome with separating panels of silver grey".

I see pink-beige plastic.

Did Packard come out with an all-plastic looking dashboard in '47, or did the chrome peel off leaving the plastic?

Is the Data book in error?

I've seen more than one example of a Clipper with the plastic exposed. Just curious.
