Mal, thanks for thinking of me regarding the thief-proof #. It's a hard one to see, I think I see <184024>, can you confirm? Also, what do you make of the curious data entered for the delivery date?

Here is a close-up, enhanced view of the TPN. Unfortunately, the first number is obscured.

The date data looks like it was delivered in May of 1934. Why is that odd?

Tom

Dave,

Can't do better than the close up Tom provided of the TPN. And like Tom I don't understand your query about the date. Do you see something we don't?

Dislexic again I guess - I saw the date as 5974. Obviously I read it wrong. The first digit on the BDN has to be a "1" so I guess we have it all. Many thanks one and all.

Dave, did you see the numbers on the picture I took of a '40 or '41 coupe? I was at a swap meet in New Braunsfels, Texas and thought of you! The pictures are surely still on that thread if you missed it.

Dave (O_D), this car is located in Germany. The seller has been so kind to provide the data which contain two side information: according to the seller it is a 1936 but the VIN tag is solid instead of a decal and the thief-proof # comes without triangles.

Gusha, you got some better pics than I did a few years ago.
Price hasn't gone up since then.

Gerd,

1938 was the one year in which a decal was used in lieu of the plate.
