Hi everyone. I'm looking for some jute fabric. I found a picture and part number here. Does anyone know where I could find this?

Thank you!

You will probably have to look in specialty (think high end) upholstery shops and suppliers for the real fiber jute product. Most ordinary suppliers have mostly gone to recycled materials having the same function and weights as the old material but with a different look.

If the padding will be hidden so looks are not that important, then many places supply alternative products. Here's the most common option that is readily available and comes in different weights and widths.

Theirs by color looks to be the modern gray type replacement and they also say foil is bonded on to both sides.

Restoration Specialties advertises jute insulation as well but no photo and the price is suspiciously low for the original thick brown fiber type. I suspect it is the modern replacement also.

jute is cheap - it's plant fiber, basically felted plant mush. I bought some from them a few years back. I'm sure they'd answer an inquiry

Thank you everyone!

I wish I could register in the Owner Registry. :) I'm asking for Tom, who I work with and who is already registered with his 1930. Sigh. . . someday.

I will start looking based on your recommendations and report back. Thanks again!
