REMOTE OIL FILTER HOSES for a 2395 288 ci

Hi All,
First time poster, longtime restorer. Just bought a 2395 (First Packard)and the remote oil filter (Fram) was in the trunk. Found two 5/16" holes in the forward d/s cylinder head (288) surface. Which fit the mounting bracket. Correct? the supply and return hoses were cut and destroyed. Plugged at the block fittings with screws through the centers. Classy, huh? I have had lots of experience with remote oil filters on Chevys, Studebakers, Franklins, etc. but the mounting locations always allowed for shorter hoses than this location. Does anyone know of a source for the longer supply and return lines required for this mounting location? I am going to bend hard lines for now but would prefer flexible high pressure lines if a source can be found.
Thanks,
The Rustjunkey

If you're interested in authenticity the original lines were steel tubing.

There were different inlet and outlet locations on various engines. Some engines with solid lifters had the filter inline as the last page of this bulletin showshttps://www.packardinfo.com/xoops/html/downloads/SC/SC-VOL22NO14.pdf Others with hydraulic lifters kept the little jumper tube intact and filter return dropped almost straight down into the crankcase in a port almost below the filter. You having the old hoses still in place will give an indication for your engine. Using your hose points for the proper arrangement, the illustration will indicate the way Packard would have mounted the filter and the general way they would have positioned the lines. I believe Fram was aftermarket at the time so your filter inlet/outlets may be a different location than the Packard item

Whoa! As I posted the above Rustjunkey had been adding his '50 Eight Club Sedan to the Registry.

Just wondering though about the picture of the 4 Buick hubcaps and part of a foot. Do you have to look at it in a special way or through a filter to see a hidden Packard?

EDIT - Ahhhhh I see why now. Helps to read the details in the Registry entry!

No I simply posted the wrong photo and attempting to correct it now. The Buick hubcaps are for sale if you know of anyone needing them.

Thanks HH56,
It looks like the steel lines I did bend for temporaries are exactly as the ones shown in the diagram you provided the link to.
Better lucky than wise.
