What is the correct term for the thermostat that operates the louvers on the radiator? Does anyone know where I can find one?

Are the louvers spring loaded? Should they be hard to close?

The louvres have a small spring to assist in returning them to closed and they can be closed manually if they are binding and not closing but if the thermostat is holding them open then they cannot be closed until the thermostat cools and its plunger retracts. The radiator surround needs to be removed to access the shutters and the thermostat then all will e revealed

I believe Bill Hirsch has them, too. Steve Babinsky restores the ones from the early '30s.
