What is that shiny round thing mounted flat on the fire wall between the air cleaner and AC blower????????

Tried to blow it up a bit to see, can't really see much but it has a single rubber hose (?) at the bottom; I'm guessing it was a vacuum gauge that lost it's lens, face and pointer.

As far as the battery "sitting high", it may be, it's not a proper Group 60 but many of the batteries that can reasonably replace the group 60 like the group 63 are about 3/4 inch higher and come very close to touching the hood pad.

I believe Kev already has this covered too.

Kev,

I was confused with the headings on many of the posts on this thread saying "Re: Packard Swap Meets. Where are they?" until I backtracked and found Carl's post to change the thread from where some of the posts originated from. Is there a way that all the posts in this thread can be titled with "Re: Packard A/C"?

Mal,

Thanks because the thread was split from the orignal Swapmeet thread. When you reply to a post, you automatically get that same Subject header. You can change it like I did on this one.

Kev,

Thanks for that. I didn't realise you could change the heading that easily.

Shoot, sorry. I didn't notice that showed up on two of my posts. They'll be edited.

If you reply to a post with a different Subject line (like I must have), your post will carry it on unless you change it.

I know, this is probably "old news" to most, but the confusion caused shows that it's a good rule of thumb to check. (Watch. I'll be the next one to do it again.)

If y'all really need to know what that darn deal on the firewall is, just go to the original listing link below and contact the owner/dealer.

(Notice I got the price wrong, too. It's a mere $22,000. But again, a nice "looker" in a lot of ways):
