'54 now looks good and I further reviewed '52 and '53 and according to Gerd's latest check list that should be the lot. Someone may wish to do some spot checks just to make sure.

You're correct. The "PACKARD" lettering on hood and only three porta-vents on rear quarter mark it as a 51.

You are correct about the "PACKARD" lettering on the hood, but the three porta-vents on the rear quarter don't say anything. I have a 1951, but it has four of them. I don't think that means anything.

Packard called them "fender louvers", option code FL, and they were widely ordered and later altered. You're right, their presence or absence isn't definitive.

Hey Kev!
Would anyone be interested in a folder called "Boneyard Packards", which would have a variety of photos of Packards in junkyards across the country. I have over 100 pics of these Packards which I could upload. I find them very sad, but still interesting. Like looking at the current Packard factory pics.
