56 Floor mats?

Hello all - apologies if the answer is already on here - i did look but didn't find it.

Curious if there were any factory-offered floor mats for the 56 Packards - I have a Caribbean if it matters. I've seen the standard black "packard" script mats on a few sites - but as my carpet is roman copper - curious if anyone knows of any mats that might match the carpet?

Many thanks - this forum is such a great part of packard ownership.

They were offered in colors to match the carpet in 55-6 but I believe a black mat with only the name Packard in script similar to an earlier year was reproduced and that was some years ago. Don't know if the repros are still available but AFAIK, NOS colors have been long gone.

Get a sample of replacement carpet from SMS. If it matches, order some stock and take it to a local upholstery or carpet shop who can cut it and install piping around the edge, to make your own.

I don't know which year/models these fit, or if they are the right color for you, but we have these (and also a set in black) and understand them to be from a 1950s Packard. Caribbean, I think.

Maybe folks on this forum can help pin down whether these are, indeed, from the 1950s or ???

Thanks!
Michele

Honestly those look too long for anything but a 7 passenger limousine backseat, but that's just my guess.

IIRC, those mats were offered in various colors by PI back in the 80s and/or 90s. Not a repro of anything previously offered by PMCC, though.

A 56 Patrician that I purchased back in 1990 hadn't been out of its garage since 1967 and had a set of aftermarket mats, but without any emblem or script. They were clearly period-correct because the driver's side mat had a round opening (not a notch) for the TreadleVac pedal rod and bellows. You had to disconnect the pedal to remove/install that mat - a bit of an inconvenience for washing. It was rather deteriorated - I don't think that I still have it.
