Eddie Edmunds HC Head and Daul Carb Install and Operation

I have got a Finned Aluminum Head and (2) Daul Carb setups and Edmunds Oval Air Cleaners for my '48 Custom Eight Club Coupe.
I have had these items many years and have decided to install.
Is there anyone out there who has installed this on their Packard.
I have owned my '48 since '89 and I am ready to give it a go.
I would love to know lessons learned or any other information one might provide.
Thanks!

Don't know diddly about them (other than that they exist), but sure would love to see pictures of them before and after.

IIRC, there was a '42 120 ragtop for sale as part of the Abelove sell-off which had a 356 installed and it had the manifold. I can't remember about the head. The starting bid, timing and logistics were all a bit much for me at the time. But I thought about it.

I imagine that you could find a buyer if you change your mind.

If you're not having fun, maybe it's your own damned fault.

On a 327. Thrilling chiefly to the eyes. I prefer a 53-54 cast iron head and 4 bbl.

Ross, beautiful eye candy. My father had a customer who had him install an Edmunds dual carb kit on his 52 Mayfair. As I recall it ran well, but probably little improvement in performance. Looked great, though.

I that my formerly owned 55 Clipper Super Sedan in the background? I understand it went back to Maryland a few years ago. Neat car and fast too.

That reminds me heavily of Hudson’s “Twin H-Power” setup.

'55 400. Needs aesthetic parts put back on, and electrical system sorted.
'55 Clipper Deluxe. Engine is stuck-ish.

Nice!
Ross - Is that your engine?
I intend to install the Head in the next week or two and then follow-up after all's well with the Dual Carb setup.
Does the install you shared have fuel regulators? I have seen some with and some without. I have two Dual Intakes.
One similar to the system in the attached photo... It is hidden behind the one with the Carbs in place.
I am located in South Georgia.

No need for regulators as the carbs are fed from the normal fuel pump.

That engine was for a customer's coupe-pickup.

Very pretty looking parts! Head and intake look great.
When setting up dual carbs on my porsche, I had to sync the carbs with a vacuum or airflow gauge and also used a wideband 02 sensor to make sure the AFR was right.
Those are two things to consider after you have everything installed and are tuning.
Cool project!!

Hens teeth. U are one lucky guy to have bought that then and in that condition now.
What carbs are under those covers?
I'd guess looking at ~$5 grand in parts alone. A cast iron vintage 3x2 Rochester carbs and manifold are >$2000 now and that's not refurbed. I gave $2200 for period GM manifold($600) and new carbs($1600) 5 years ago. Not even sure you can still buy today - no listing.
I wouldn't suspect it'd be much different than any multi carb and head install. Sealing flat heads is an art I know of not. I haven't seen any Edmunds install manuals, but just are rare. I've got Rochester and Carter multi carb documents. Ross's done it so HeBDaMan for ?s.
