Does anybody know the color number or cross reference number for the red hexagon on the bumper guard? My guards/bumpers need to be cleaned up!

Bob just painted his hubcaps. I'm sure he can tell you what color he used.

Chinese red. Ace Hardware. Was match for such bolts on my '40 One-Twenty years ago.

Not sure if it's still available but Cook & Dunn's "Flame Red" enamel was a near-perfect match for the original.

Um... you're not going to like it. Purists cover your eyes.
I use Tremclad Red spray paint. Used it on all my wheel rims, all hex nuts on the bumpers, hex stamping on the hub caps, arm rest bases I made for the home made door arm rests, even used it to colour match my upholstery material.
Oh, and 1937 Ontario license plates are red, so you can guess what I used to paint those too!
I expect I will now be blocked from the site.
Bob J.

I used Rustoleum red spray paint for my 55 hubcap hexagons. Don't remember which red exactly but it looks good.

Fourney black paint marker for the black ring.

'55 400. Needs aesthetic parts put back on, and electrical system sorted.
'55 Clipper Deluxe. Engine is stuck-ish.

This is what I used. It's close enough for me. The picture comparing is stock color hexagon and what I bought.

I too, used a hardware store 'rattle can dark red' and thought it looked okay. As a detail add-on, I painted the hex nut edges black. Probably elicit a boo-hiss from the purtists but I thought it looked nice. Chris.
