Does anyone know how much suction is drawn off of the inlet side of a 1950 288 straight 8 double action fuel pmp. I wouldn't think there is a difference in the suction from the year of the fuel pmp, just the size. I have not been able to find the information in the TM that I have or online. Thank you for your help.

Trying to understand the reason you need this information. Are you asking about the fuel side or vacuum side of the house. Most fuel pumps are rated in PSI pressure they produce on the fuel side, not the vacuum they draw.

If you have a pump, you could attach a vacuum gauge to it, and that would give you your answer.

Yes, the Vac side of the pmp. I don't have a filter on the outlet side and wanted to put an inline filter on the inlet. I was going to use a gauge but I was wondering if there was a standard vac for the pmp. This is my first total rebuild, so I guess I ask some off the wall questions. Thank you for your responce.

As a generalization:

On the vacuum booster side of the pump, a couple of strokes of the arm should give and hold at least 14 inches of vacuum. If it doesn't hold the vacuum you either have a ruptured diaphragm or leaking check valve.

The fuel diaphragm is checked by output pressure, 3-1/2 to 5 lbs typical. And it should hold a vacuum on the inlet side and if it doesn't again you either have a ruptured diaphragm or faulty check valves.
