Fellows, I am about to re-upholster my 1937 115-C Convert Coupe. It is painted Packard Cream. Does anyone know interior colors which were available in 1937? I see a lot of information on paint colors but nothing on interior colors. Rick

Nice, spunky little car. I leave it to others with experience with these to come up with a paint/upholstery chart. But since you're on the West Coast, sorta, call my old friend Armand Annereau, Armand's Auto Upholstery, Walnut Creek, 1 (925) 934-4373, in business since 1897. Armand's owned many pre and postwar Packards, six, eight, Super Eights, bent eights, and has the lavish upholstery books for most years Packard issued only to their larger dealerships. Tell him a black '47 Super Clipper in Walnut Creek referred you.

Handsome wee barouche, easily as elegant as the funky little postwar Rolls-Royce Silver Dawn/Bentley R-Type on a wheelbase only five inches longer (120"). If only Packard had continued to build such company-saving, reasonably sized cars as yours and the One Twenty BUT instead marketed them as "personal size" or "town use" or "sporting models" instead of with their incredibly lame, clumsy, downhome "junior" ads.

G'day Rick,
A warm to PackardInfo. Have you looked in the '35-'41 Parts List available here in the Literature and Manuals section of PackardInfo? From a quick look in my hardcopy, there is some information there, see pic's below. Lastly a request, could you please include your '37 115C Convertible Coupe in the Packard Owner's Registry here on PackardInfo?

Thanks, guys. I'll call Armand and check out the parts list. Rich, my email is rlnorth@newmexico.com. I would love a picture of your interior. By the way, did you ever discover the stitch count for the originals? Rick

Rick,

Nice to see that you are getting some help. This site has a wealth of information and a large group of knowledgeable contributors.

You have been asking about upholstery materials and colors, but what about the floor covering? My Six Convertible Coupe has a hogs hair type carpeting, but I believe these cars originally came with a rubber floor mat. Have you discovered any information on the original floor covering?

(o[]o)

P.S. Meant to say that the car is looking quite nice. Good photo.

John,

I have not done any investigation of original floor coverings. My car also has carpeting which is surely not original. The rumble seat has rubber floor covering. Perhaps others will chime in. I will ask Armand when I call him.

Thanks for referring me in on this site for Packard owners.

Rick

Rick,

You are welcome. The more the merrier.

The floor in the rumble seat area in my car is covered with the same 'hogs hair' type carpet as the passenger compartment. Most interested in what the original floor covering was, and if it is still available.

When I purchased my 1937 120 Convertible Coupe it had never been restored. The front compartment had a rubber mat in it (which I recorded the pattern of on a piece of paper before I tore it out), and the rumble seat area also had a rubber mat. When I reupholstered the car I added carpeting in both areas, right or wrong that is what I wanted.
