Greetings all,

My new acquisition meets the kids. The wife however is insisting on no more rides until seatbelts are installed. I don't love the free one in the background any less, but running and driving is super nice. The car itself is a survivor in remarkable shape, (to my novice mind), temp guage and clock inop, but that really is about it. The carb is poorly setup, running quite rich which makes it stumble on take off unless I am VERY gentle. Brakes work well, but man are they stiff to start. I don't imagine that that is normal, but they do work well once engaged. Now the focus shifts to the honey do list - and then resumption on the '28!!

I bet that not many take their old Packards out in the rain, but hey, it needed cleaning anyway.

Ray,

Very nice looking '55 and based on the smiles coming from the fans in the back seat, I would say that they are enjoying their ride as much as Dad is.

Very pretty car. I agree with your wife ... put in the seat belts. The most important thing is the safety of your kids.

You can make a lot of really neat things from the parts left over after you rebuild your engine ...

If you have not done it already....be darned sure the power brake unit is in first class shape.

Then I'd lube anything that in the history of the car ever needed lubrication.

Make sure your credit is ok on your gas card, and ride, ride, ride.....

When two men ride the same horse, one has to be in the back...
