I was getting ready to give a set to a friend who has a Six, but now that you pose the question, I need to find out if there's a difference, too. I think the ones I have came off of a 180.

I purchased a set of 4 off of e-bay a few years ago. I was getting them for my '41 180. They don't fit. They are apparently for a junior wheel not a senior. I still need to put them back out on e-bay. These are the trim pieces that go between the hubcap and the outer beauty ring. I don't know if these are the same items under discussion. I still need to get a set (actually 3) for my 180.
Edit: If I think of it... I'll post a photo of the two different rings side by side tomorrow.

So, the ring on the left fits the 1941 Senior wheel. The ring on the right may fit a Junior wheel or may be from a different make of car altogether.

I think Ford utilized a very similar looking inner ring.

I am looking to buy a set of trim wings for a 1942, model 120. Does anyone know if the 1942 trim rings are the same as those used for the 1940's?

Sorry, but those inner rings would be incorrect for your 1942 120. You need to see the photo below that shows a 1942 120 with the correct, full-sized hub cap with cloisonn? center.

Looks like the inner trim disc on the right fits the 1941-120 and the 1941 clipper both which have 15" wheels. The 1942 Packard Eight (120) conv. used a hub cap with the red hex surrounded 3 concentric rings. The hub cap with the emblem was only used on sr. cars.

I used to think the same thing about the 1942 junior cars. But the 120s came with a LOT of 1941 senior car parts. Shown below is another 1942 convertible coupe - while it too is in Ivory it is a different car than the one I posted above. Notice the senior car parts: bumpers front & back, rear tail lights. But both are 120 cars - look at the hood latches. Yet both have the same large hub caps with the cloisonn? hub cap. Wish I could find my photo of an all original 1942 120 convertible (in black) that is owned by the City of Detroit and stored in a warehouse in downtown Detroit. It too has the same hub cap as the cars I pictured. Wish I had a 1942 parts book to verify.
