G'day MRogers22,
 to PackardInfo. Is it real? A qualified yes, only in so far it's "in the metal". Did it come out of the Packard factory like that? Then NO!  If you have a Packard or Packards I invite you to include it/them in the Packard Vehicle Registry.

Maybe a sea captain owned it. As for the running board delete, this car appears to have simply had them cut off as there is no rocker cover that would normally be there with the delete option. Given the other modification, it would not surprise me.

No, that's someone's idea of a 'classy' formal top treatment. The poor old '41 Packard has been offered for sale at a very optimistic price on various on-line sites for quite a few years. The running-boards are missing as are the brackets. The delete option has a shapely rocker panel that ties in nicely at each end when in place of the running-board. Steve

I too, like the look of the '41's. The one thing I do find difficult to get used to, is the way the running boards (when so-equipped) do not mold around the front fenders, but are squared off. To me, it looks 'awkward' and ungainly. Just my eye, though - I'm sure to others they look just fine. I think if I had one, I'd prefer the delete option. Chris.
