Was a Packard 110 convertible with a boattail design released for 1940??? I've never seen one. If so what's the model number? Look at this on UTUBE:youtube.com/watch?v=6dOlLSb55Rk
Paul.

Looks like a customisers touch there along with the split front bumper, BIG horns on the front fender, dual exhausts(on a L6!), stars on the rear fenders, rear bumper over-riders, etc, etc.

No such car ever left the Packard factory, it's just someone's fanciful creation.

Sorry to say but it reminds me of a circus caravan. No offense.

I love the wooden wedge driven in under the RHS running board........I bet that the owner who paid a lot of money for this "creation" didn't look under the car. IMHO, I would rather see a "weird" creation than another Packard crushed.....Someone has spent a lot of money on this so I believe that we should accept the fact that some people prefer modified over original. I prefer this creation to a Senior Packard with a small block Chev and italian brothel upholstery.

The Buell air horns and PACKARD in lipstick red on the top of
the grille are gauche, but even tho' things like this nauseate me, since it's only a 110, a car Packard didn't need to build, why not? I was ready to slam it, but when i saw he retained the Packard engine, i figure more power to him-- literally since he found or made a split manifold. If he called it a '40 Packard 110 but had dumped in the usual Chevy 350/Turbo 400/tilt wheel, it would've irritated me, because what he'd really have would be a '74 Chevy Monte Carlo with an old car body. This is the problem i have with all street and retro rods. The drivetrain's the heart of any car. So if you replace the running gear, you should call the creation whatever the drivetrain's donor was. Always thought original boattail cars from the '20s and '30s silly, tasteless, anyway, so why not? There are plenty of unadulterated 110s floating around to thrill and titillate museum goers in future millenia. Have to agree with '39Super8 on this one.
