I am selling a remanufactured gearbox. The gearbox was purchased from John Ulrich. It was never used and installed by me. It was originally planned for my 36 OneTwenty. The gearbox is located in Germany. We can negotiate the price.

Would that fit a '37 120 without frame or driveshaft mods? Would the '37 floor shift cover fit?

I can't answer about the floor shifter but you would very likely have to shorten the drive shaft. I had to do so in my 1940 110 and the transmission was made for it!

The floor shifter cover can only be made to fit with extensive modification. It takes me all day to do one as it entails cutting and rewelding the shifter forks.

But in my opinion the change in the drivability of the car is worth it.

I am very much interested in this transmission for my 1936 Packard 120-B Business coup. The price for the transmission aside, the shipping to my home in Port Charlotte Florida must be insane. Any idea of the shipping cost? Call 1+ 313-418-9975 or email me at william.howerth@akahn.com

As probably already mentioned, this transmission would not fit your 1936 due to a different frame. It might fit 1939 (although not original to that year) but it will definitely fit 1940 through 1947 for which it was made!

I put a 1954 Overdrive transmission into a 1937 138CD put where the tranny is not in a different location. I also used the cane shifter with slight modification. So by appearance it looks original. The 54 tranny is a different model Trans but I would think it would work.

1936 and 1937 120's Are what we like best. But we also like all other Packards too.
