For my 1924 Sport I'm still looking for someone who can give me more precise data on the diameters of the individual pipes in the main silencer. It would be best to get this data from someone who still has an original muffler and can unscrew it. As you can see in the picture taken of a 1917 locomotive. It would also be very helpful if I can get a very good copy of page 80 from the "Service Parts List - Packard Eight" that is no clearer than the copy shown and that allows me to measure the dimensions and the holes in the pipes more precisely to count and possibly even measure.

Karl

Karl: You might call Dixie Exhaust in Charlotte NC and see if he has prints. He has a lot of old car exhaust prints. He built my exhaust system for my 32/ 901 and it was a direct match.

Steve Babinsky also has a company that makes exhaust, and I think he even owns an all-original Sport Model.

Gary , West Peterson thank you for your answer.
I wrote to "Dixie Exhaust in Charlotte NC" by email and asked them whether they had any data on the muffler. I don't belive they release them because they are a company and make money from it.
Steve Babinsky might be more likely to answer, because himself is a pre-war car enthusiast. But the question is how to reach him because he doesn't even have a homepage because he rejects it even though he has a restauration business. In an interview he said. That he has enough to do and doesn't need a website. West Peterson do you have any contact information...email address from him???

Karl, I'm convinced that West, Gary & friends have up-to-date information, mine is 8 years old but comes with a 1925 Packard image.

Karl,

See this Project Blog. Although that Blog is for another project, the info relating to Steve Babinsky and exhausts may be helpful. See Page 3 where there is some contact info for Steve Babinsky in relation to exhausts.

Post is only 3 & 1/2 years old, so trumps Guscha's 8 years old info!

Mr. Babinsky in addition of owning an outstanding Packard Sport, also owns an exhaust system manufacturing company with an extensive collection of original specifications. Best way to get in touch is to call his shop phone (908-236-6400) and leave a message for him.

Mal, Dave walked past us, unimpressed by our circus. He had the home advantage because Mr. Babinski runs his business in the immediate vicinity.

Karl,-> this 1924 Packard has undergone a sympathetic mechanical recommissioning under the supervision of Mr. Babinski. Please take a look at the leather door panels.
