I just posted a thumbdrive's worth of pictures taken by Mike Grimes at the Warren Meet into the Photo Archive. Thanks Mike for sending those over to me for posting on the website! It is most appreciated.

I'm particularly taken by the '37 Twelve chassis with the early Pierce Arrow body. An imposing vehicle because of the large glass area and towering elevation which gives it a commanding presence.

A few more pictures from Warren, these from the "1937 Showroom" event. I found the 1937 Twelve phaeton particularly interesting because 1936 was the last year for a factory-bodied phaeton, those that followed generally being Rollston or Derham bodied. But this one has centerpost-hung door and is a Dietrich; the body is a left-over 35 or 36 (confirmed by the thief-proof #) Dietrich body updated to 1937 nose and other details. The red 37 convertible coupe victoria is by Rollston as is also interesting as it was "saved" with what could only be near-superhuman effort and much cost from a misguided hot-rod conversion and returned to original powerplant, transmission, front suspension, etc. I will never understand why someone hot-rods a Classic, all the worse when it's a one-off. Kudos to the current owner for saving it from such miguided efforts.

Just a few more, these photos by Mr. Ole Book. The hearse is a 1937 Twelve art-carved by Miller, and then the interesting Pierce/Packard of Mrs. John D. Gordon of CT which has been pictured before. I guess an owner/restorer could have picked a worse color, pink or chartreuse, but on such a severely formal car it's hard to think how anyone could have picked those colors.

And again, my favorite at Warren, the 1st series Eight touring.

Dave, about the 1937 Twelve Phaeton, a '36 body on a '37 chassis. If this is the car I think it is, I had a chance to visit with its owner and he took much time to show me the car. It was on a lift at the time. He pointed-out many alterations that had to be done to fit the body. It still had its original tools and bag, and side curtains and bag. The last Phaeton made by Packard.

Sounds like the same car. I don't know if you can really say the last made by Packard since the body was not built by Packard, the last Packard-bodied phaeton was in 1936 though Rollston and Derham bodied a few after that, at least into 1938, and maybe 1939 for a Twelve.

The restoration was quite stunning.

Dave,If you think the restoration is stunning you should see his shop facility. Carpets on the floor! He did the mechanical work on my '47 Custom Clipper. The engine compartment is still stunning after almost 25 years.

The 37 Phaeton is from the Albuquerque NM area.

One little bit of trivia on the 37 phaeton, the body serial number (thief-proof#) puts the body tub as 1935 rather than the 1936 that I previously thought.
