Can you identify the model and year of the car in this photo?

Looks like a 51 200 but also appears to have a couple of options such as the Pelican hood ornament and the front grill guard.

Howard nailed it! The Cormorant ornament and grille guard would have been relatively expensive accessories for an inexpensive model.

How to tell the year? First, you can see the rounded corners of the windshield and the lack of fender wraparound trim along with the oval in the grille with protruding turn signals that it is 1951 or 1952. Seeing the cormorant with standup wings and the PACKARD lettering on the hood narrows it down to 1951. Difficult to tell in the photo but 1951 and 1952 had different turn signal lenses too and these appear to be the 1951 type.

Definitely a 1951 Model 200. Note that it has the "poverty" hubcaps instead of the full wheel covers seen on the more expensive 250 and 300 models. My 200 Club Sedan had the same hubcaps as the car in the photo. A Patrician would, of course, had the cloisonne wheel covers, the last year they were available. I also noticed that this car had the optional wheel trim rings. I wonder where the photo was taken. This car was an export model as it has right hand drive, so I'm guessing Great Britain or maybe Australia?

Rather than it being a RHD export model, I think the negative of this photo was simply flipped. The two letters visible on the hood look like a backwards "D" and "R" rather than a "P" and "A."

I agree. Same with the hubcaps (though too blurry to read, they can be compared graphically).

'55 400. Needs aesthetic parts put back on, and electrical system sorted.
'55 Clipper Deluxe. Engine is stuck-ish.

Thanks for the response. This was my grandfather's car shown with his wife and daughter (my mother) in New York state, united states.

Thanks for the fix. My grandfather was an avid photographer and developed and printed the photos himself. We have several prints of this scene with the image flipped.

I agree a 1951 Model 200 and it looks like a 2-door to me.
