Thanks for the reply, so just to be clear it's fine with one wire connected? I guess that the knob on the side of the reg. Box is for adjusting the charge rate?

The brass knob on the side is the cover for the fuse. There is no adjustment of charge rate on the generator cutout and control unit, you have a 3rd brush type generator and charge rate is adjusted on the generator itself by the position of the 3rd brush, screw to adjust on the back plate of the generator.

Is the single round terminal with two wires to the left and down of the cutout connected or is it just loose for the photo?
