Has anyone restored the Running boards on a 1941 120? I know Steel makes molded rubber for prior years, but this model has what looks like vulcanized rubber directly to the steel. I have seen photos of restored cars and the running boards look new. Any info would be of great help.

And on the AACA Site, there are/were a pair of reproduction covers for a '41http://forums.aaca.org/f135/41-42-running-board-rubber-complete-270553.html but they are for a 138" wheelbase car but could be cut down for a 120 or 110.

When I get my boards back again I'll update the Wade's Workshop blog.

Thanks for all the great information!!! I called Mr. Hunley Acuff
1423 Wilson Rd Rossville, GA 30701 706-866-4875 and he vulcanizes rubber to the bear steel running boards. Will cost about $1200.00. Does anyone know what the cost of the Rhino product is?

Doing my boards the first time with Rhino cost me AU$220.00 about US$200.00 at current exchange rates. It's going to cost me again for the second lot of hole filling and coating but if you do it right the first time and have the excess holes filled there wouldn't be any extra cost for you. Then there's the manual effort to rub back the Rhino, cost of various grades of paper, and your time to do a good job. In my opinion, Rhino lining is the only way to go. Also, a lot less expensive than $1,200. Follow Dave Mitchell's instructions and you will have boards that look perfect.

Oh, thanks!! That sounds soooo much better than $1200.00. I can do the sanding, no problem. I will contact Keegan.
