Who's headed to the yearly meet in Warren, OH this year in a few weeks? Hopefully i'll be there (i was ashamed to miss it last year as it's literally 3-5 miles from me), and it'd be nice to put some faces to names.

Also, if i get my lean condition sorted, i'd love to have someone with more experience than I drive my car and let me know if everything seems normal on it (acceleration, shifting, etc.) after all the work i've done.

Hope to see some of you there!

That's only a two hour drive for me. I try to park directly across from the main entrance to the music hall.
Come over and give me a poke in the ribs. I even made it the weekend it rained heavily. I can't answer for Brian, but he is usually there also.

The present heat wave that we're expereincing in the Penn-Ohio area is brutal - with no real relief in sight.

There are too many (non-hobby) things competing for my attention, but I hope to make it to Warren again this year.

However, if they have the show out on the blacktop, rather than in the shade of the South Lawn, I won't be staying long.

I can't be staying long either as a) i have a rod knock and will be limping in and out and b) i'm meeting another member in Wooster around 2 to drop off some parts and check out a car he is interested in. Depending on how she does getting there, i may be back sunday with my father in law and his 57 chevy truck.

I had a chance to meet cortcomp as he took advantage of my invitation to give me a poke in the ribs. It's great to see young blood in the Packard camp. I also met Bob Powell (actually I met two of them) and I had bought some parts from him on ebay. Always good to put a face with a name, because as you know, I am bad with names. The other Bob Powell was from Florida. Both of them attended the dinner and awards show. I was sorry to see Brian had missed the show - we don't get many chances to connect face-to-face even though we both live in western Pa. I took some pics and will post them here. I had a pleasant day and lunch with Paul Teets from NC. He has his 1950 Custom convertible (one of seven known) on display at the museum. Disappointed at the small turnout, around 35 cars. This is considerably less than the normal crowd we got over in Packard Park, but Packard Park is not allowing the museum to use the grounds to park cars for the show. I hope these two get together and resolve their differences because this weekend was considerably diminished by the small turnout. Had a good time nonetheless with Jerry Vinarcik, Bob Zimmerman, Ted Bunnel and other new Packard friends.
Bob Lichty gave a great talk with slides about the Original Lincoln Highway and the fact he traveled it from East to West. He is going to do it again West to East - nice presentation, with the able assistance of his wife.
And, oh yeah, Best Other got a trophy for Best Postwar.

Randy, thanks for the photos and congratulations on the award! The small turnout must indeed have been a dissappointment - I have good memories of the Centennial with about 1000 Packards roaming around Warren.
